Hello from Arrowtown (near Queenstown)! The last few days have involved A LOT of driving! We left Nelson and drove to Hokitika on Saturday, which pretty much took all day. We had a couple cool scenic stops along the coast which was beautiful and at a site called the pancake rocks - basically it looks like a bunch of pancake shaped rocks have been piled on eachother in the ocean - actually pretty cool because scientists still can't figure out how that happened! Mostly though it was a lot of time in the car. The next day was another big driving day from Hokitika to Wanaka. We stopped at the Franz Josef and Fox glaciers as well as Lake Matheson to hike and take pictures. It was pretty nice but after a while I got pretty tired from hiking so much. During the last part of our trip the drive went beside Lake Wanaka, which was breathtakingly beautiful! I was really impressed - one of my favourite spots so far. The drive was very scenic and we ended up stopping lots for pictures and getting to Wanaka pretty late.
Today we went for a jet boat ride in Lake Wanaka which was pretty exciting since they drive pretty crazily. Then we drove to our Resort in Arrowtown, which is where we're staying for the next 5 nights (a nice break from long drives). The resort is AMAZING - the coolest place I've ever stayed I think. Arrowtown is kind of a main st. unionville type town with some historic homes and cute little shops and restaurants. It's 20 minutes from Queenstown which is where they have a lot of the main adventure and tourism stuff. I'm pretty excited because it all looks pretty fun and VERY scenic! And I may or may not be doing a Lord of the Rings tour...

I hope you can fit in the Lord of the Rings tour at some point. Even if it's in the next few months... I don't get it, but I know you are obsessed! hehe.
